The American Cancer Society Relay For Life^® offers the opportunity to remember people who have lost their lives to cancer and honor those who have won their battle. One of the most moving parts of the event is the Luminaria Ceremony of Hope. As the sun sets over campsites and darkness falls, the night is brightened by the glow of illuminated bags called luminaria, each of which has a special meaning. Some celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer and have lived to tell their stories. Many remember the lives of those who have been lost to this disease. All represent someone special who has been profoundly affected by cancer and the family and friends who continue to fight back in their honor.

It's been a busy day, lots of emails! I know there are some issues with the registration process and I want to assure you all that you are not alone! Maybe I can clarify a few things.. it gets a bit confusing.

1. There is a goal for each team member to raise $100, but you do not need to pay that when you sign up. This has been the most common question from team members. I suggest that you register to fund raise online, then invite your friends and family, co-workers etc. to donate on your behalf by visiting the website and following the instructions. This way you will be credited.

We have a lot of time to raise money and there are ideas in the works for that. The important thing is to get Becky's team signed up so PLEASE REGISTER!!!!!!!!! Telling Becky that you are IN is not enough, you must register as a team member of Becky's Believers.

2. I have been asked if all team members are required to stay the whole night. It would be awesome but we all know that not everyone can do that. We'll have a "schedule" for walkers - someone has to be on the track walking at all times, even 4 a.m. We'll talk more about this when the time gets closer.

I'm going to stop with those 2 items for now, I hope that helped??? Thank you all for beginning this journey! Details are just a small part of it and we'll get through this stuff!

It's really inspiring to watch some of the survivor stories, also heartbreaking to see the luminaria ceremonies.
